Information on Applying for Housing
Equal
Opportunity
In the
provision of housing services the Co-operative will seek to ensure equality of
opportunity and treatment for all persons. No person or group applying for
housing will be treated less favourably than another person or group of persons
because of race, colour, ethnic or national origin or because of religion, sex,
physical disability, appearance, marital status or sexual preference.
If it is requested the allocations policy will
be made available in Braille, large print, on tape or in other languages. If you
require this you should contact our Housing Supervisor at our Aberdeen office.
Confidentiality
All
information provided by an applicant or sought by the Housing Co-operative to
assess the housing need of that applicant will be treated in the strictest
confidence.
Membership
of the Co-operative
Before being made a
full offer of housing an applicant must be approved for membership of the
Co-operative. An offer will not be made to any applicant who refuses to apply
for membership or who is not accepted for membership by the appropriate
Membership Sub-committee of the Co-operative.
Right
of Appeal
All
applicants have the right to appeal against any decision taken during the
application or allocation process; however an appeal must be received within 7
days of the applicant being advised of any decision. All applicants have the
right to request details of the appeals procedure from the offices of the
Co-operative.
