Money
Advice Day
Seven
Tenants First Tenant Management Board members attended a Money Advice Day
during December in Woodhill House, Aberdeen.
This course was offered free of charge by SCARF (Save Costs And
Reduce Fuel) in partnership with TIGHRA (Tenants In Grampian and Highland
Regional Area).
This half day workshop provided details on several projects in the
Grampian area which offer advice on ways for tenants to save money and
maximise their income. There were
three workshops on offer — Community Banking and Financial Inclusion
Initiatives, Cutting the Cost of Home Heating and Credit Unions.
Keith
Marley, Committee Member and Deeside TMB member said the course was
“very informative and worthwhile and I found the credit union section of
particular value”
Wilma
Wilson, new Sheddocksley TMB member said that “the speakers were of a
very high standard and I learned a lot about the following topics:- energy
efficiency, fuel poverty (spending more than 10% of income on fuel),
funding, climate change and heating loss — I found it all to be very
useful information”
Tenant
Management Board members are often offered relevant training.
